Local theater group presents musical comedy about travel

The Majestic Theatre will present Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know, a dinner theater production, March 4, 5 and 6 at the Majestic Theatre, 281 Cartier St..

The group performed this musical comedy back in 2001, and decided to revive the show in celebration of their 15th anniversary.

“We had so much fun with it the first time, and we’ve had requests from our regular audience members to do it again, so it seemed like a good time to do that,” said Rob Dionne, artistic director at the Majestic, who also directs the show. “If you’ve ever traveled, whether by car or by plane, then you can relate to this.”

Dionne says the play takes a Noel Coward-style look at common problems such as lost luggage, botched itineraries and shady travel agents, through music and humor. The cast includes Jeff Caron, Tom Anastasi, and Dionne himself as a singing piano player. The show also employs comic slides that add a multi-media edge to the action on stage.

“It’s fun, light entertainment, perfect for dinner theater,” Dionne said.

Tickets for the dinner theater and dessert theater shows must be purchased in advance. For more information, call the Majestic box office at 669-SHOW.
