Bands galore at 2nd annual FIREFest

Half a dozen bands will be hanging out on East Pearl Street in downtown Nashua on Sunday, Oct. 7, from 2 to 8 p.m. as they become a performing part of the second annual FIREFest.
The festival, presenting more than 20 performers, from dancers to artists and musicians, will feature two stages, with the bands performing on the east stage.
The Double Yellow (2:15 to 3 p.m., pictured), a five-piece alternative rock band from Nashua, features Kevin Thibault on guitar and vocals, Evan Hedrich on lead guitar and vocals, Jeff Moore on keyboards and vocals, Peter Balogh on bass and vocals and Andrew Cote on percussion and vocals. Crazy Jane (3:10 to 3:55 p.m.) is an alternative rock and blues trio also from Nashua with Paul Miller on drums and vocals, Chris Cochran on lead vocals and guitar, and Corey Pafford on bass and vocals. Full Tilt (4:05 to 4:50 p.m.), another five-piece, is an alternative and classic rock band from Boston, with Justin Molaison on vocals, Mike Fretwell on guitar and vocals, Ben Olendzki on guitar, Adam Widmer on bass and vocals and Mark Molina on drums. Emily Rising (6 to 6:45 p.m.), from northern Massachusetts, describes themselves as an “angry folk rock” band playing “adult contemporary music.” Emily Rising is John Large on lead vocals, Peter Bates on guitar and vocals, Minos Dounias on bass, and Ricky Rice on drums.
Emily Rising’s song list includes anything from ’60s folk rock to more present-day tunes, along with an assortment of originals from their debut album, Earth Ship Emily Rose. Music samples and more details on Emily Rising are available at www.sfe4y.com.
Also performing at FIREFest are The Uncle Funkle Trio (7:15 to 8 p.m.), a funky rock and blues band from Dover, and Forgo Famine, an alternative rock band from Boston.
