Your favorite stuff about southern New Hampshire

By Hippo Staf news@hippopress.com

You voted, we report.

Actually, a lot of you voted. More than ever before. Thousands more people voted in the readers’ poll this year than last year. And this year, the voting was (for the most part) all online. The result was more restaurants, people, salons and other local establishments duking it out to be the best.

PEOPLE: In the heart of the city
New leader for Main Street Concord

After about a year with Great American Downtown in Nashua, Jessica Eshleman, 31, this month made the switch to Main Street Concord. Eshleman formerly worked at Mount Kearsage Indian Museum and worked on weekends at the Barley House in Concord. “When I learned of the opportunity here in Concord, I shot for the stars, they aligned and here I am,” she said. Eshleman said she wants the community to know Main Street Concord will have an open-door policy. She welcomed questions and suggestions: visit www.mainstreetconcord.com or call 226-2150.

Most wine is just OK, but that’s OK

The best thing about the new media is that with most online newspapers, the reader can post an instantaneous comment to an article and other people can read it. The posts are chronological so you can even see what people who commented on your post think. I love the little threads.
