Law firm Sulloway & Hollis, PLLC, opened the Robert M. Larsen Gallery in 1992. Maxfield Parrish illustrations, work by League of New Hampshire Craftsmen members and work by noted artists such as James Aponovich has been exhibited there.

Mixed bag on Nomar’s Red Sox retirement

I don’t know about you, but I had mixed feelings over Nomar Garciaparra’s signing for one day so he could retire as a Red Sox last week. On one hand, given his acrimony toward the team that led to his trade at the deadline in 2004, it seemed weird. On the other side, I do recall how good he was with and for the Red Sox when he was here and how beloved he was by Red Sox Nation.

Gatsas’ seat stays in Republican hands

Republican state Sen. David Boutin defeated state Rep. Jeff Goley last month to take over the Senate seat formerly held by Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas. Boutin, who was a state representative before the election, represents District 16, comprising Bow, Candia, Dunbarton, Hooksett and Wards 1, 2 and 12 in Manchester. Boutin is serving on the Capital Budget Committee, the Transportation and Interstate Cooperation Committee and the Wildlife, Fish and Game and Agriculture Committee.
