Frisella’s new studio, sell art for animals, girls-only tim
By Heidi Masek

• On her own: Robin Frisella has been active in the Manchester arts community, chairing the Manchester Artists Association and selling work through East Colony Fine Art at Langer Place. She was also MAA’s artist of the year this year, and belongs to Nashua Artists Association and Sharon Arts Center. Now, Frisella, who works primarily in pastel, is opening her own shop. The December inaugural show at Frisella Fine Art Studio, 26 Old Manchester Road in Candia, features art from Robin and Tiffani Frisella, Doreen Boissonneault and Randy Knowles.

• Art for animals: The Animal Rescue League of NH is hosting its third annual juried art show and sale in January. Submit two-dimensional artwork or jewelry between noon and 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, Friday, Jan. 5, or Saturday. Jan. 6, at the League, 545 Route 101, Bedford. There’s a jury fee of $10 per piece and artists can submit up to six pieces. The fee is not refundable if the piece is not selected for the show. Local interior consultant Sandra Cote will judge. The League will take a 30 percent commission on sold pieces as a fundraiser for the animals. The show runs from Jan. 12 through Feb. 1 at the League, with an opening reception Friday, Jan. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. Visit for more submission guidelines or call 472-5714.

• Women only: Ladies Night at the Riverview Artists Mill, 29 Howard St., in Wilton is Thursday, Dec. 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. You can shop these local artists and artisans, but massages will be a draw, too. Licensed massage therapist Sarah Elizabeth Whitcomb of Mother’s Touch Massage Therapy is accepting donations for massages and proceeds will go to SHARE, a food and clothing pantry in Milford. The studios and stores in Riverview include Nimiti Shop, Sophisticated Stones and Gifts, Ladybead & Rook, SignPost Studios, The Painted Emporium, Mudworks Pottery, Sussy-Rose Sheilds Jewelry and Designs by Deborah at 33 Howard Street. Bring a non-perishable good to donate to SHARE.

• Holiday art shopping: Pick up Russian art at the Russian Arts and Culture Bazaar at New England Language Center, 16 Hillside Dr., Rochester, 332-2255, on Saturday, Dec. 16, from noon to 3 p.m. The Exeter Holiday Craft Show ends with shows Saturday, Dec. 16, and Sunday, Dec. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Exeter Town Hall. The Bedford Craftworkers’ Guild holds its holiday fair at the Kendell House behind the Bedford Library on Meetinghouse Road, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Dec. 17.
